Dana Charles announces candidacy for Colorado Senate District 3 

PUEBLO - Dana Charles, a dedicated healthcare professional and lifelong resident of Pueblo County, is excited to announce her candidacy for Colorado State Senate District 3.

Charles, a proud native of Colorado, has spent nearly 25 years in the healthcare industry, gaining invaluable insights into the needs and challenges of Pueblo residents. As a mother of two and a devoted wife, Charles understands the importance of family and community. Her extensive experience serving on numerous boards and commissions has equipped her with the knowledge and passion to drive positive change.

With a deep commitment to the community and a vision for a safer, more prosperous Pueblo, Charles is ready to bring strong leadership to the State Capitol.

Charles is running for the State Senate seat currently held by Senator Nick Hinrichsen because she believes Pueblo deserves better representation at the State Capitol. “The people we have entrusted to serve us are failing us,” Charles says. “I can no longer sit idly by and watch this unfold for the community that I hold dear to my heart. Our city, our county, and our state deserve better.”

Her vision is to uplift and empower the Pueblo community. She is committed to:

  • Safety: Charles will fight against laws that impede the ability to keep the community safe and will ensure law enforcement has the support they need.
  • Affordability: Charles will work to make life more affordable for families by addressing taxes and fees that burden residents.
  • Parental Rights: As a mother, Charles believes in the importance of family decision-making and will advocate for parental rights.
  • Protecting TABOR: Charles is a staunch supporter of the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) and will fight to keep hard-earned money in the hands of the people.
  • Preserving the 2nd Amendment: Charles is committed to protecting the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
